Postcardproblem 2
Try to place the 12 pentominoes inside the largest possible rectangle, in such a way
that the pentominoes divide the rectangle in 5 parts of equal size.
There may not be more then 5 open areas; also open areas are not allowed to
touch each other in a corner.
The pentominoes must form one shape, so that from any pentomino there is a
pentomino path to any other pentomino.
Find the largest solution.
The parts in our example are 48 squares.

Esther Pluess of Switzerland read our
competition 29 wrong and sent us solutions to
this problem.
She wrote:"Natuurlijk willen onze olifanten naar elkaar
op bezoek, dat begrijp je wel. Daarom hebben ze wat gras omheen gekregen. Maar
de hoekjes zijn wel goed voor het slapen, denk ik."
and in a next email:"Onze olifanten vonden de hoeken te klein, dus
hebben we daar nog een keer over gedacht, en jawel, het kan groter!"
The first time interpreted Berend Jan van der Zwaag our contest also wrong and
sent us a 57 solution for this problem.
